Climatotherapy

Climatic influences in both therapeutic and prophylactic treatments

Climatotherapy - uses the influence of various meteorological factors and the climate of the area, as well as specially leveled climatic influences in both therapeutic and prophylactic treatments.

Methods used in climatotherapy - aerotherapeutics, solar therapy, talassotherapy (in the narrow sense -  in some cases swimming in the sea whilst  others utilize different  natural waters), as well as pelloidotherapy silt mud.

How does it work? Climatotherapy produces thermoregulatory mechanisms which  have a bracing effect on the body, increasing its defensive forces, and  its resistance to unfavorable environmental conditions. The effect of different climatic factors (natural UV radiation, air ions, etc.), help to even out the pathological phenomena (light starvation, hypoxia), prevention and eradication of some diseases (rickets, etc.) The influence of climatic treatment restores the biological links of the organism with the environment (temperature, wind, humidity, sunshine), . were lost  in a dwelling climate.

Aerotherapeutics - using the open fresh air in therapeutic and prophylactic purposes (long stay in the open air, sleeping on the seashore, aero-ion-therapy, and air baths). Marine Aerotherapeutics is in the form of day residence  on the coast. In the body affects the sea air, saturated with negatively-charged ions, ozone, phytoncides of seaweeds, salts of  Na, Ca, Mg ("ion reflexes of mucous" of upper respiratory tract),  I and Br (content 12 times higher than in mainland air!). Seashore is  a unique natural inhalatorium. Air Bath – dosed effect of fresh air on the body completely or partially nude person in the open air. The most intense thermal stimuli of all kinds aerotherapeutics. Warm air baths are easily bared also in the hottest period.

Heliotherapy- the using of solar radiation which curative and preventive results.

Infrared radiation - heats the surface  tissues  the thermal effect.

Visible radiation -   has an effect on the photoreceptors of eyes, which affects the functional state of the central nervous system, determines the daily biorhythm and performs a visual information.

UV rays of the sun do not penetrate through ordinary window glass, but are found in the water up to a depth of 1m and through clouds, which explains sunburn in cloudy weather. Long-wave UVA-radiation ("black" color) provides a synthesis of melanin and skin pigmentation ( "tan"). Middle-wave UVB-radiation leads to the formation of reactive oxygen species. It stimulates cellular respiration of body tissues and processes of regeneration. As a result of photochemical reactions is a generation of  D3 vitamin.

Suntan - local skin reaction to the combined impact of all types of optical spectrum. Curative effects: pigment and vitamin generating, immune stimulating, desensitizing, bactericidal, metabolic, tonic, vase active, regeneration, psycho-emotional effect.

Talassotherapy is a therapeutic use of climate and sea-coast swimming (swimming in the sea, dipping and rubdown with sea water). Sea bathing has a beneficial effect on all organs and systems, providing training thermoregulation, stimulation of the CNS, the sympathetic-adrenal system, metabolism, oxidative processes, enhancing vitality of the organism and its adaptive capacity, expressed hardened action. The beauty of the sea and coastal landscapes along with splashing waves has a positive psycho-emotional impact. Curative effects: tonic, adaptogenic, quenching.

Pelloidotherapy is a mud treatment. It is an effective method of treatment of diseases of the  joints , the effects of trauma, injury, neuralgia and neuritis. Silt mud – a greasy mass, formed from sedimentary rocks of the Dead Sea, under the active influence of microorganisms. The structure of masses of mud  from  Dead Sea salt consists of  ions, as well as sulfur, iron, iodine and mud forming bacteria that releases hydrogen sulfide. Curative mud used in the form of mud applications locally, or on  the entire organism . Temperature of application: up to 42-44 ° C. The time of application is 20 minutes. Curative mud has thermal, mechanical, chemical effects on the body, which is a powerful factor of biostimulation in a climatic resort.
